Meet Matt Brophy

Matt Brophy is the alter ego of The Oyster. Matt grew up loving sport from an early age and he fondly remembers watching sport with his dad either on the idiot box at home, as he liked to call it, or live at different sporting venues across Sydney. To the left, he is wearing his dad's 2000 Sydney Olympics volunteer polo. Blinkie, as he was affectionately known, made The Oyster who he is today. He can't thank him enough for fostering his love of sport.

His first sporting memory was watching the Western Suburbs Magpies vs Illawarra Steelers at the legendary Lidcombe Oval back in 1983. From that day onwards, his love affair with all things sport strengthened.

When he’s not obsessing about sport, he is an educator moulding the minds of future generations in Brisbane, Queensland.

“he stole my winning goal on the Sydney Cricket Ground during the half-time Hungry Jacks Little League in front of about 7500 fans at the scg!

Christopher Kyle: Nor-West Jets/Hawkesbury Saints Life Member, Premiership Winner and Umpire Extraordinaire
